About the Festival
There was much disappointment that our annual Stoneybatter Festival was cancelled due to COVID-19. We had been looking forward to all the activities over the weekend including the closing of Stoneybatter to traffic for a day and bringing 10,000 neighbours and Dubliners outdoors to meet, greet and enjoy themselves. But while we cannot celebrate at present, we can engage in a range of activities to give our fantastic community an uplift and sense of hope for the future. So, from Friday 19th June to Sunday 21st June we’re making Stoneybatter Festival a virtual reality — off street to online — with a light but lively programme of community and virtual activities!
We have started our summer planting and the village will be blooming! Dublin City Council will ensure the streets are spick and span. Our festival bunting will be up along both sides of Manor Street and Stoneybatter. Look out for the banners with messages of resilience & strength. We will also have a new Stoneybatter mural at Mulligans, courtesy of the Local Authority Water Programme. Let’s shop & support local businesses.
There have been wonderful activities in the community and great support for our most vulnerable residents during lockdown. So a big thanks to all our local frontline workers.
Now, join in and check out our schedule of events and competitions. And don’t forget to stay up to date on our Facebook, Instagram & Twitter. Let’s get #stoneybatterfestival trending! See you there!
